Spitfire vs Garden Shed
Date: Mon, 12 Nov 2007 13:32:52 -0500
To all
the nay Sayers
I took the back garden fence/gate down today and
drove the Spitfire into the back yard and into the shed. As you can all see
from the attached photo it just fits. I am able to close the doors. I had
hoped to be able to slide the car over to one side of the shed but in order to
do this I would have to take both the front and rear bumpers off. Like Brian
said I should have made it 20 feet long instead of just 12 feet. Oh well I
really didn't want to store the car in the shed all winter as I hope to
put the twin SU carburetors and the 4-2-1 Exhaust header on this winter.
I've also attached a recent photo of Asko who is
now 14 years old. He is still doing well although it's a bit slow going around
the block these days.
The other picture (that's me on
the right) was taken on Saturday, November 10th, while on a 60 km
bike ride with the Kanata Napean Bicycle Club. We cycled from Centrepointe
along the Ottawa River downtown to the Portage bridge and crossed over to
Gatineau and cycled back along the Ottawa River to Aylmer and back again to
the Champlain Bridge. We stopped several times as evidenced by the photo
taken on the Portage Bridge with the Parliament buildings in the
background. We had planned to have lunch at the Marina in Aylmer but it
was closed so we ended up going to a Tim Horton's instead. It was a bit
chilly (+4 C) when we started out at 11:00 but by the time we crossed over the
Portage Bridge and started heading West it warmed up a bit or maybe
it just seemed that way as we had the wind to our backs then.
Cheers, Roly
