COLE, Donald Richard
January 24, 1932 - February 1, 2018
Don lived an incredible life. Born January 24, 1932 in Westboro. His parents Fred and Ann Cole had 9 children - Murray, Doug, Don, Beverly, Fred, Frank, Ken, Guy and John. He served in the Korean War with the PPCLI
and had 27 years of service with the Canadian Air Force then retiring from External Affairs after working in 85 countries. He was married to the love of his life for over 50 years, Eleanor, who left us on August 5, 1995. They had 7 children -
Donnie, Brian (Sue), Garry (Anita), Mary-Ann (Christopher), Tommy (Jackie) and their beloved twin sons - David and Richard who were tragically killed with their friend Gordon Baker, while bicycling, at the tender age of 16.
Don and Eleanor cherished their 15 grandchildren - Carolynn, Chris, Tina, Allison, Scott, Jimmy, Jennifer, Sasha, Aleks, Maksim, Damon, Anastasia, Karolina, David and Danica. They also have 9 beautiful great-grandchildren.
Don enjoyed spending time with his cousins Sylvia and Bob Cole (Shirley), Des Brownlee, Bob Coleman, Joanna Burke, the old "FARTS" and many others. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at the
Perley-Rideau Veterans Healthcare Centre who work tirelessly to ensure our veterans are treated with kindness and the respect they deserve. A Celebration of his life will be held at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road on
Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 1 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Words of remembrance will be spoken at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the either the Perley-Rideau Veterans Healthcare Centre or the Korean War
Veterans Association of Canada. Online condolences may be made at www.colefuneralservices.com
