SMITH, George Jolly (Retired Department of External Affairs) Suddenly at his home, 25 Place Louisbourg, Aylmer, Quebec, on Tuesday, March 22, 1983, in his 61st year, George Smith. formerly of Greenfield Park, Quebec. Dearly beloved husband of Edna Elizabeth (nee Heavyside). Loving father of Randy, and his wife Dodie, of Alymer, Rod and his wife Raymonde, of Fredericton, N.B., Rick and Rory of Old Chelsea, Quebec, Edwina of Ottawa and Russ, at home. Loving grandfather of Michael, Shawn, Katie and the late Wendy. Grandfather to David and Heather Mathieson. Son of the late Jean and Alfred Smith. Brother to the late Alfred, Adeline Coates of California, U.S., James of Spencerville, Ontario and Donald of Singhampton, Ontario. A private family service was held on Thursday, March 24, at the Tubman Funeral Home, Ottawa. Spring interment Belleview Cemetery, Alymer.

SMITH, Edna Elizabeth (Nee Heavyside) Peacefully, on Sunday the 14th day of March, 2010 in her 85th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband, George (1983), cherished daughter, Edwina (2000), and treasured grand-daughter, Wendy (1980). Devoted mother to Randy (Dodie); Rod (Raymonde); Ric; Rory; and Russ (Jan). Proud grandmother to Michael (Heidi); Shawn; Katie (Craig); Olivia and Sydney; and to David & Heather (Mathieson). Proud great-grandmother to Conan and Sarah. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road (at Roosevelt), Ottawa on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Funeral service in the Chapel at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ovarian Cancer Association are gratefully appreciated.
