Born in Hanna, Alberta, Ken spent his early years in the Canadian Navy. He then
worked for the Alberta Liquor Control Board in Calgary before joining Foreign
Affairs (formerly External Affairs). His postings included New York, NY, Dar es
Salaam, Tanzania, Caracas, Venezuela, Bagdad, Iraq, Bonn, Germany and Bogota,
Colombia where he retired. Ken died peacefully at age 76 on October 4, 2014 in
Bogota. He is survived by his wife and three sons all of Ottawa.
