Subject:"Celebration of
Life" for Larry Manns
I am sending this to everyone on my email list that is in BC to let you know we have finally settled on a date for Larry's "Celebration of Life".
We are having the official one in Nanaimo and a smaller one at my home in Kelowna.
The one in Nanaimo will be on Sunday 29th of April at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 10, 129 Harewood Rd. There will be a small legion service, with a reception to follow. Anyone wishing to say a few words will be more than welcome.
The one in Kelowna will be very casual at our home, Saturday 9th June, 2428 Sexsmith Rd. Between 2-5. Hopefully it will be held outside, so bring chairs.
I am sure there are people I have missed and I would appreciate it if you think of anyone, please pass the word on.
Ethel Manns
MANNS,
Larry Norman July 28, 1941 - December 19, 2006 It is with great sorrow that we
announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Larry in Salome, Arizona December
19th, 2006. Survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Ethel, daughter Kelly
(Scott), son Norman (Michelle), grandchildren Tynan, Courtney and Joshua. Also
survived by his mother Emily, sisters Geri Raines, Audrey (George) Tilley, Donna
(Cy) Martin and brother Terry (Georgie) and numerous loving relatives and
friends. Predeceased by his father Norman, sister Beatrice and brother Keith.
Larry was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba and moved to Nanaimo in 1951, where he
completed his secondary education. Larry served with the Canadian Armed Forces
from 1961 to 1988 in many different locations around the world. He then served
with Foreign Affairs Department of Canada until he retired in 2001. After
retirement Larry and Ethel moved to Kelowna. His great love of travel and
adventure brought Larry and Ethel to the four corners of the world and when they
returned home they shared their experiences with family and friends. He will be
greatly missed by all of us. Interment will be private. Family will receive
friends informally at the home of his son. If desired, donations in Larry's
memory may be made to the Sandra Schmirler Foundation, 1660 Vimont Court,
Cumberland, Ontario, K4A 4J4.
