McBRIDE, Mary Joyce (External Affairs Spouse - Retired) In hospital at Almonte surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, June 24, 2007. Joyce McCagg of Carleton Place, age 67 years. Sadly missed by her husband, Mervyn Brent, sons Phil & Ron and daughter Kathy (Gregg) Greenwood.
Her grandchildren Zoe, Franklin & Johanna. Her brothers Neil (Joyce), Boyd (Anita), Bruce (Lou) & Hugh (Margaret) McCagg. Sisters Helen & Gladys (Eldon) Hereault. Predeceased by her parents, Fred & Mary McCagg, Sister Marian & Half-Brother & Sisters, Cecil, Marjory & Melba Joyce was a brave lady who willingly traveled the world as a Foreign Service Communicator's wife, raising her children in such faraway places as New York - Lima - Accra - Brussels - Mexico & Bonn. She was a devoted wife and fantastic mother and she was a true modern day pioneer adapting to every situation. The product of her endeavors is her great children who loved her dearly.
A special thanks to her sister, Helen for all the help and
support, my brothers and their wives, Gordon & Shirley and Kent &
Juliette, also the dedicated Nurses from Bayshore Access Centre and the Red
Cross. To Dr. Dolan who devoted his time and care to Joyce and the Nurses at the
Almonte General Hospital who are second to none as well as Kathy & Karen of
Perth Hospital. Dr. Gertler and the staff at the Cancer Clinic. Thanks to our
friends Ken & Fran Hoban, Gary & Maureen Langille and Joe & Ev
Thompson. To the Pharmacists at Shoppers Drug Mart in Carleton Place - Ghada,
Suzanne & Wendy. Respecting Joyce's wishes her cremated remains will be
taken to Austin United Church, Quebec to reside with her Mom & Dad, where a
graveside ceremony will take place at a later date. Funeral arrangements
entrusted to the care of the C. R. GAMBLE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 127 Church
