I noticed that there seems to be some question regarding the death of Robert Wayling and if, in fact, he was a Tech in the Department. In 1966 The Department fielded an excellent fast ball team which I coached and played third base for. Bob Wayling was part of that team handling the administrative aspects of putting a team on the field. Bob was, at that time, connected to the com. center and was a tech. I left Ottawa later that year and headed for San Francisco. Bob left the Department sometime after that. I never heard from him again. If the Bob Wayling mentioned in the Obit is the same Bob Wayling as described above, he certainly should be in your web sites obit section ! Max Sherrin

Bob Wayling was a tech when I first joined the department. He and a few others were let go when the department downsized around the time we were reclassified (1969-70). He went to DOT in Toronto. He was part of a small group from our section, including Ken Boor, who attended my wedding to Sue. Lost track of him once he left Ottawa. Terry Hayes
