HUNTER, Vince - Department of Foreign Affairs, Retired. Suddenly and unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, June 27th, 2006 with his wife Diane at his side. Son of Ivy and Edgar. Predeceased by his first wife, Gwendolyn Whalen. Dear father of Susan Marcus, Thomas (Roxane), Terry (Helen) and Trina (Bruce Dawson). Beloved grandfather of Jason, Natania, Cory, Lauren, Kyle, Megan and Kayla. Brother of John, Ron (Heather), Dave, and Ted (Susan), as well as Diane's sisters Linda (Martin Crickett), Cathy (David Pollard) and brothers John (Judith) and Lewis. Vince's first job was as a submariner in the Canadian Forces followed by his career with the Department of Foreign Affairs where he served his country with postings in Paris and Moscow and twice in Beijing and Belgrade. Vince retired in 2001 and enjoyed travelling with Diane as well as spending time with his family and enjoying life in the country with his dear cats Ming, Qing and Tang. Friends and family will always remember his wonderful sense of humour and joie de vivre. He earned the nickname "Facts Hunter" honestly from his insatiable quest for knowledge of how and why things worked. You will be so missed as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Funeral Services Tuesday, July 4 2006, in the Chapel of the Kelly Funeral Home, 2370 St. Joseph Blvd., Orleans, at 11 a.m., followed by burial and reception at Beechwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Vince to the Canadian Cancer Society would be most appreciated.
